History

This turntable is manufactured to the highest engineering standards and should give you years of trouble free use and musical enjoyment. The Wyndsor turntable and LP1 speed controller have been designed by Mike Creek to celebrate 25 years as a manufacturer of hi-fi equipment. In honour of his father’s electronics business, where Mike served his apprenticeship from 1970-1975, the turntable reflects the family business name, Wyndsor Recording Company Ltd. Bob Creek, Mike’s father, manufactured reel to reel tape recorders in London from 1948-1970 and, among other consumer products, turntables from 1970-1978. Those products were sold under the brand name Wyndsor Recording Company.

Creek Audioの創立者、マイク・クリークは、長い間、レコード再生は、オーディオに於いて、重要な事であると位置づけ、フォノ回路のモジュール、ならびに、フォノ回路が内蔵出来るアンプを、絶えず提供してきました。更に、1993年からは、単体のフォノアンプとして、OBHシリーズを供給してきました。これらCreek Audioの持つ、アナログ再生の卓越した技術を、最大限に発揮させ為にも、Creek Audioが、ターンテーブルを開発するべきであるという考えは、論理的にも、ユザーの要求に沿った、姿であると同時に、完全な、オーディオシステム形成の範疇に、アナログ製品加えるべく、責務がありました。

エレクトロニクスビジネスでは誉れ高き、マイク・クリークの父、ボブ・クリークは、ロンドンで、1948-1970年の22年間は、家業として、Wyndsor Recording Company Ltd. は、リールからのリールの、テープレコーダを製造していました。さらに、1970-1978年には、民生用製品として、ターンテーブルがあります。1970-1975年の、短い彼の見習期間は、今日のマイク・クリークに反映され、今回、Wyndsorターンテーブルの発表への、大きな道筋となっております。


Overview

The Creek Wyndsor turntable shipped from the factory without arm - its versatility allows it to be fitted with the arm of your choice. For photographic purposes we have chosen to use the Rega RB300 and Goldring MM cartridge. The turntable is mounted on the Creek AR4 rack, which not only supports the turntable but also isolates the vibrations that cause feedback. The two products complement each other as similar parts are used on both. The adjustable feet and damping rings are identical.

The black acrylic base is already fitted with the three adjustable silver feet and spikes. Be very careful not to damage anything with the pointed spikes while assembling the table.

The Wyndsor turntable accepts many different tonearms. The adjustment ring fitted is 23mm - however two different sizes are included - 24mm and 25mm. Be sure to use the correct one for your tonearm.

Creek Wyndsorターンテーブルは、本来、取り付けられるトーンアームの選択が、可能なターンテーブルとして、トーンアームなしで発売されます。標準のベース用リングは、23mmですが、他に、2つの異なったサイズ--24mmと25mmも用意されています。

シリコンオイルを注入した、特殊なアームべースにて、アームの上下調整が可能、アームへの振動対策は完璧です。



It is possible to run the turntable with only one or two belts. It is however, more stable with all three belts.

大型のアクリルプラッターを回転させるには、たった1本、ないし2本でも、問題はありませんが、より素晴らしい安定性を提供する為に、あえて、3本のベルトを使用しています。さらに、ターンテーブルモーターは、それとの共鳴と発する振動が、性能に影響することから、重いクランパーを以って、スピンドルと水平に、設置されております。















Place the LP1 motor speed controller on a shelf within range of the motor cable. Plug the appropriate mains plug onto the OBH-Uni power supply adaptor for your country of use. Select either 45 or 33.3 RPM from the buttons on the front of the speed controller. Use the stroboscope to set the absolute speed.

33 1/3rpmか45rpm、どちらかの回転数の為に、モーター駆動用の電源は、別筐体の速度コントローラ(LP1)から供給されます。なお、ストロボスコープは、正確な速度設定を、補正する為にも、用意されています。







When playing a record, place the heavy clamp on top of the spindle to flatten the record and stop resonances or vibration from affecting the performance.

ＬＰレコードの再生中の、パーフォンマンスを阻害する、共振と振動を阻止する為に、ＬＰレコードをスピンドルに対し、フラットに固定する重量級のスタビライザーを用意しました。

CREEK WYNDSOR TURNTABLE

MikeCreek has long held the view that vinyl disc reproduction is important to hi-fi reproduction and has always produced amplifiers with the built-in capability to apply this format.  Since 1993, Creek Audio has also produced a range of affordable, stand-alone, OBH-Phono Stages that can extract high definition signals from vinyl discs.  It is therefore logical that Creek Audio should develop a turntable to add to their range of analogue products that would create a complete system for the user. 

During the autumn of 2007MikeCreek sharpened his pencil and drew the first concept sketch of a turntable that would initially suit his own requirements.  Based upon solid engineering practice and using high quality materials, the concept became a reality when all the parts were then drawn in a solid modelling program, allowing a three dimensional view of the product, long before the first piece of metal or acrylic was cut.

Cosmetically, the Wyndsor Turntable uses some component parts already used in the Creek AR4 equipment rack.  The adjustable feet and damping rings are identical to the AR4. The speed adjustable power supply is made to match the Classic and Destiny range.

The adjustment ring fitted is 23mm - however two different sizes are included - 24mm and 25mm. The black acrylic base is fitted with three adjustable silver feet and spikes. The acrylic platter uses three belts - it is possible to run with just one or two, but three provide greater stability.

A separate speed controller (LP1) is supplied allowing you to adjust for either 33 1/3 or 45 rpm. A stroboscope is included to assist in setting the exact speed. There is a switch on the turntable motor which can override the speed controller. In addition, a heavy clamp is provided which should be placed on top of the spindle to flatten the record and stop resonances or vibration from affecting the performance.

It will be necessary to plug the RCA plugs from the tone arm into an appropriate amplifier fitted with a Phono pre-amp, set for either MM or MC cartridge matching. Creek Audio manufactures both moving magnet and moving coil phono pre-amplifiers.
